Last Updated: October 2025

Overview

Modern Conflict is a Massively Multiplayer Online Real-Time Strategy (MMORTS) game where you build and command your own military force. Choose from three unique factions, each with distinct bonuses tailored to different play styles.

The main objective is to build the largest army and accumulate the most net worth by the end of each round. You'll compete against other players, complete missions, upgrade your base, and engage in strategic warfare.

Rounds & Resets

Rounds are competitive seasons that last approximately 35 days. At the end of each round:

  • All players' armies are reset to starting values
  • Top 10 players receive premium credit rewards
  • Medals are awarded for: Net Worth, Population, Richest, Most Wins
  • Top 5 platoons receive rewards
  • Your profile, achievements, and messages are preserved

Why Rounds?

The round system gives new players a fair chance to compete and win prizes. Without rounds, new players would never catch up to veterans. Every 35 days, everyone starts fresh with equal opportunity.

Basic Information & Terms

Army Level

Your army level is determined by experience points (XP) gained through attacking, missions, and exploiting. Your level affects:

  • Maximum items you can purchase in the Armory
  • Money and recruits gained from exploiting
  • Mission rewards and unlocks
  • Auto-generation of recruits every 10 minutes

Level Up Formula: Next level requires (Level + 1) × 22,500 XP

Turns

Turns are the primary resource for taking actions in Modern Conflict. Almost everything requires turns:

  • Attacking - 1 turn per attack
  • Missions - 3-15 turns depending on difficulty
  • Recruiting - Variable turns for new recruits
  • Exploiting - Variable turns for quick cash/XP

Turn Regeneration: Every 10 minutes (called a "tick"), you receive 20 turns (free accounts) or up to 50 turns (VIP Package 3). VIP accounts can also hold more turns at once (2,000-5,000 max).

Offensive, Defensive, and Mining Scores

⚡ Offensive Score

Determines damage when attacking. Higher offense = better chance of winning. Increase by purchasing weapons and vehicles.

🛡️ Defensive Score

Protects you from attacks. If your defense > attacker's offense, you win. Increase by buying armor, vehicles, and upgrading your base.

💰 Mining Score

Determines income every 10 minutes. Higher mining = more passive income. Increase by purchasing tools and training workers.

Unit Types

All units start as Recruits and must be trained into specialized roles:

  • Offensive Soldiers - Wield weapons for attacking. Each needs one weapon.
  • Defensive Soldiers - Wear armor for protection. Each needs one piece of armor.
  • Workers - Use tools to generate income. Each needs one tool.
  • Vehicle Operators - Drive vehicles that boost both offense and defense. Each needs one vehicle.

Important: Units without equipment are useless! Always match your units with items from the Armory.

Factions

Choose wisely! Your faction determines your playstyle and bonuses.

💰 Terrorists (Faction 3)

Can I change factions? Yes! Visit Account Settings. Cost: $500,000,000 × (Army Level + 1)

The Armory

The Armory is where you purchase equipment for your units. Remember: Units without equipment are useless!

Equipment Types

  • Weapons - Increase offensive score. Require offensive soldiers.
  • Armor - Increase defensive score. Require defensive soldiers.
  • Tools - Increase mining/income score. Require workers.
  • Vehicles - Increase BOTH offense and defense. Require vehicle operators.
  • Aircraft - Extremely powerful but very expensive. Require vehicle operators.

Equipment Tiers

Each equipment type has 5 tiers. Higher tiers are more expensive but provide better bonuses. You unlock higher tiers by upgrading storage buildings (Armor Cache, Weapons Cache, Tool Storage, Vehicle Garage, Aircraft Hangar).

Tip: Higher-tier equipment is always more cost-effective than buying more low-tier items. Upgrade your storage buildings early!

Attacking

Attacking is the best way to gain experience, steal money, and damage enemies. When you attack, your offensive score battles the defender's defensive score.

Attack Types

  1. Damage Assault - Destroys equipment, lowers net worth. Grants victim retaliation rights.
  2. Cash Theft - Steals 10-15% of cash (less if online). Minimal damage, no retaliation.
  3. Power Strike - Maximum XP gain. Minimal cash/damage, no retaliation.

Attack Limits

  • You can attack the same player 75 times per 12 hours
  • Each attack costs 1 turn
  • Damage assaults grant the victim retaliation rights

Retaliation System

If someone damages you, you can retaliate with a 30% offensive bonus! Here's how it works:

  • For every damage attack you lose, you get one retaliation strike
  • Retaliation attacks have +30% offense
  • Your retaliation doesn't grant them retaliation back
  • Retaliation rights expire after 12 hours

Example: Steve attacks Bob 14 times for damage and wins. Bob can now retaliate 14 times with +30% offense, and Steve can't retaliate back for those 14 attacks!

Equipment Damage Order

When you damage an enemy, their equipment breaks in this order:

  1. Armor (first to break)
  2. Weapons
  3. Vehicles
  4. Tools (last to break)

Banking

The bank protects your money from theft. Money in the bank is 100% safe and earns interest every 10 minutes!

Bank Limits

  • Deposit Limit: Starts at $0, upgradeable via the Upgrades page
  • Bank Capacity: Bank Level × $60,000,000
  • Transaction Limit: Limited daily transactions (VIP get 4× more)
  • Transaction Reset: Rolling 24-hour timer per transaction

Bank Interest

Every 10 minutes, your banked money earns interest:

  • Formula: (Interest Rate × Balance) ÷ 144
  • Free Account: 3% daily rate
  • VIP Accounts: Higher interest rates (up to 11% daily)

Strategy: Always keep your money banked when not actively purchasing! Even a few ticks of interest adds up over time.

Platoons

Platoons are groups of up to 10 players who team up for mutual benefits. Think of it as a clan or guild.

Platoon Benefits

  • +10% Offense Bonus - 10% of platoon's total offense added to yours
  • +10% Defense Bonus - 10% of platoon's total defense added to yours

  • Cannot be destroyed in combat

Missions

Missions are safe, guaranteed-reward objectives that cost turns. There are 27 standard missions plus story campaign missions.

Mission Types

  • Standard Missions - 27 missions unlocked as you level up (every 3 levels)
  • Story Campaigns - Multi-step narrative missions with special rewards

Turn Costs & Rewards

Turn Cost Cash Reward XP Reward Recruits
3 turns $180K - $320K 250-500 XP 15+
6 turns $270K - $480K 375-750 XP 30+
9 turns $405K - $720K 562-1,125 XP 45+
12 turns $607K - $1.08M 843-1,688 XP 60+
15 turns $911K - $1.62M 1,265-2,531 XP 75+

Note: Rewards scale with mission level and your army level

Mission Cooldowns

  • Standard missions: 2-5 seconds between completions
  • Bot check required after 20 consecutive missions

Strategy: Missions are the safest way to convert turns into guaranteed rewards. Great for new players and when you're low on defense!

Training & Recruiting

Recruiting

Recruiting converts turns into Recruits - untrained soldiers who can later be trained into specialists.

  • Recruits per turn increases with army level
  • You also auto-generate recruits every 10 minutes
  • Formula: (Army Level × (1 + VIP Type)) ÷ 5 per tick

Training

Training converts Recruits into specialized units. Each training is instant and costs no turns:

  • Offensive Soldiers - For wielding weapons
  • Defensive Soldiers - For wearing armor
  • Workers - For using tools
  • Vehicle Operators - For driving vehicles/aircraft

Important: You can also "untrain" units back into recruits if you need to reallocate your forces!

Buildings & Upgrades

Buildings unlock better equipment and increase your limits. You can only construct one building at a time.

Storage Buildings

  • Armor Cache - Increases armor capacity, unlocks better armor
  • Weapons Cache - Increases weapon capacity, unlocks better weapons
  • Tool Storage - Increases tool capacity, unlocks better tools
  • Vehicle Garage - Increases vehicle capacity, unlocks better vehicles
  • Aircraft Hangar - Unlocks aircraft (very expensive, very powerful)

Base Upgrades

Upgrading your base provides permanent defense that cannot be destroyed:

Level Name Cost Defense Bonus
1Tents$1,000,000+1,400,000
2Barbed Wire$1,500,000+1,650,000
3Cabins$2,000,000+2,200,000
4Sand Bag Perimeter$2,500,000+3,000,000
5Bunkers$3,000,000+3,600,000
10Trenches$7,500,000+11,200,000

Bank Upgrades

Upgrade your bank to increase your deposit limit:

  • Cost: (Level + 1) × $6,000,000
  • Capacity: Level × $60,000,000

Build Times

Buildings take time to construct. VIP accounts build faster. You can cancel construction but won't get a refund.

Exploiting

Exploiting is the fastest but least efficient way to convert turns into instant cash or XP.

How It Works

  • Spend turns to exploit local resources
  • Choose between cash or experience
  • Higher levels unlock better exploiting options
  • Rewards scale with your army level

The Catch

Warning: Your soldiers may desert! After exploiting, you'll lose a portion of your recruits. The soldiers of your army don't always agree with unethical actions.

When to Exploit

  • When you need quick cash immediately
  • When you're about to hit turn cap
  • When you need XP for a quick level-up

Tip: Exploiting is convenient but inefficient. Attacking and missions give better long-term returns!

Mercenaries

The Mercenary Market lets you buy and sell trained units with other players.

Selling Units

  • Sell excess offensive/defensive soldiers, workers, operators, or recruits
  • Receive 50% of the standard buy price
  • Instant sale - money added immediately

Buying Units

  • Offensive/Defensive/Workers/Operators: $3,500 each
  • Recruits: $2,000 each
  • Limited supply - only what other players sell
  • Units sell out quickly during active hours!

Strategy: Check the merc market frequently! It's a great way to quickly bulk up your forces or liquidate excess units for cash.

Strategy Tips

For New Players

  1. Balance Your Army - Don't focus only on offense or defense. You need both!
  2. Prioritize Income - Workers with tools generate passive money. This is your economic engine.
  3. Always Bank Money - Cash outside the bank can be stolen. Keep it safe!
  4. Join a Platoon Early - 10% bonuses to offense, defense, and net worth are huge.
  5. Complete the Tutorial - You get rewards and learn everything you need.
  6. Don't Hoard Turns - Use them! Turns generate constantly, so don't let them cap.

Combat Strategy

  • Spy First - Before attacking, spy to check their defense. Costs money but prevents losses.
  • Use Retaliation - If someone damages you, use your +30% retaliation bonus!
  • Attack Smart - Target players near your level or slightly weaker.
  • Damage vs Theft - Damage lowers net worth but grants retaliation. Theft is safer.

Economic Strategy

  • Upgrade Storage Early - Higher-tier equipment is more cost-effective.
  • Max Your Bank Level - Compound interest is powerful over 35 days.
  • Invest in Vehicles - They boost both offense AND defense. Best bang for your buck.
  • Don't Sell Equipment - You only get 50% back. Only sell if desperate.

Long-Term Goals

  1. Reach Level 100+ (unlocks all missions and equipment)
  2. Build a balanced 1M+ offense and 1M+ defense
  3. Max out all storage buildings
  4. Join or lead a top-10 platoon
  5. Accumulate billions in net worth
  6. Compete for top 10 rankings and prizes
